Baby Love Scrapbook Layout

One thing I am always taken by is how Kim creates such visually interesting and dimensional layouts. And yet when I looked more closely at this one, her embellishments are really kept to a minimum. It shows that if you take the time to use a technique on your background before you get started, you don't need to add a lot of extra fluff to the page. I also love how the free-flowing pattern of her background contrasts with the clean lines and straight arrangement of the frames across the center of the page.

Hi there everyone!  Kim here to share a layout with you today.   I’m a huge lover of using cut outs, die cuts and lots of pretty colors and I attempt to use these things in most of my layouts. For this one I hand drew a little pattern along the top and bottom of my page, cut it out and then used a watercolor page underneath to show through.  I love how you never know what it will look like and I’m often surprised by the outcome.  It’s one of my favorite techniques to use these days.

Once I adhere the colored page to the back of the cut page, I finished with a few chipboard frames and fun embellishments.  I didn’t want to do too much more to the page because of the cut outs. I also keep lots of my cut out page scraps and painted pages to use later on other projects. Have a great week!
