I love photographing children, being behind the camera, following them around, talking to them, etc. etc. but then what I love even more is sitting down in front of the computer and looking through the photos. It’s so amazing to go through them one by one and see their expressions and the different moments that were captured.

Recently I did a shoot of three gorgeous kids and then another shoot of their cousin basically at the same time – two shoots in one – and it was great! They were all so fun and easy going and the little ones (two – 2 yr old girls) loved the camera! They had so much fun and looked so adorable in their dresses, giggling and smiling and I was just shooting away!! I am so used to my boys being all goofy and running away from me – maybe it is the difference between boys and girls…..

Anyway, I just can’t believe how cute these kids are…. the whole time I was proofing these photos I kept telling my husband – you have got to see these kids – they are soooo gorgeous! Definitely some of my favorite photos to date. (I always say that though, right? Must be why I do this – they all make me so happy – love to see those natural and fun moments captured on film…. to last forever.)

…………………………
On a personal note, we have just been busy as usual around here. I have been working on a bunch of scrapbooking projects this week and the boys have been shooting hoops on the back porch non stop! The weather has been so nice – not too hot – the perfect temperature!

Brian took Tyler to the Suns game this week and they got to sit on the 2nd row! Tyler was in heaven the whole time – yelling and cheering and following every aspect of the game! He is in love with basketball and especially the Suns! He knows every player and their number – it is amazing! He got asked to go out on the court at half time with the dancers and then his picture was up on the big t.v. screen! And then all the kids can go down on the court after the game and shoot free throws! He loved every second of it!!

Matthew has been asking me daily if we can go to the beach and also if we can go back to Disneyland. He would like to know why we can’t just go today. I tell him that it is too far away and that it is in California where Aunt Liz lives. He tells me not to worry – that he will help me get there. He says “you just go left, then right, then straight, then left again, right again and straight again… and we will be there.” It’s just that simple in their little minds – no concept of distance or time or the costs involved.

Nathan still loves to follow the big boys around and do everything they do. He is hilarious and makes us laugh all day long with the things he says. His latest is that he says “Suns…. Steve…. NAAAASH” and he yells it like he is the announcer for the game and he drags the a out in Nash. He is also saying golf now but he says it “dolf” and today he saw Tiger Woods on the t.v. and he simply says “Tiger Woods” like we have taught him that or something. It’s amazing how they pick up on things and he surprises us with the things he knows all the time! The cutest is how he will say the prayer at night. We will help him say it and he will just say the last one or two words of each sentence or phrase we say. He will peek up at all of us the whole time with a huge grin to see if we are watching him. Tyler and Matthew sit and giggle at how he says the words. Then after he says amen, we all clap and he is so happy and excited and then he runs right over to the stairs and climbs up and runs right to his crib in his room! He is such a joy!!

One more story from this week… I get light-headed and dizzy a lot when I am pregnant, especially in the mornings – nothing out of the ordinary for me. I usually just have to lie down and eventually it passes. But, one day this week it was really bad and I actually passed out a couple of times because I was up trying to do my normal mom stuff and it would come on and I couldn’t make it to the couch. Anyway, I was fine – didn’t fall hard or anything, just collapsed to the ground. Then I got up and made it to the couch to lie down and Tyler and Matthew were so concerned. Matthew asked if I was going to throw up and then Tyler came over and asked “Mom, are you going to die?” I assured them that I was o.k. but that I just needed to rest for a bit. Then Tyler brought over his Suns basketball and gave it to me and said “here mom, just hold this and it will help you feel better.” It was so sweet and so cute of him – that basketball is his most treasured possession right now!

The reason why this is even significant is that normally Tyler is not as aware of things like that – people being sick or hurt, etc. It is part of Autism and he used to be so unaware of feelings. For example, when Matthew was a baby Tyler would laugh whenever Matthew was crying. He had no understanding that Matthew was sad and that he should be sympathetic. He just thought it was funny that this little baby was making such strange noises! But, he has come such a long way and he has learned to understand different feelings and he is definitely more aware now and more sympathetic than he used to be. For him to be so sensitive and concerned about me is really so significant in his progress.

And really, he has taught me something in all of this – he has taught me to be more aware and to notice things like this – to not take it for granted when those I love take the time to be concerned and sensitive to what is going on in my life. It’s the little things – it always comes back to that. He has taught me to appreciate these little moments – to recognize that what matters is us – being there for each other – showing each other that we care and love and are concerned.

And thanks to everyone who has been checking on me (especially you, mom!) I promise that I am fine – doing well actually!

Anyway, that turned into a really long post! Had a lot to catch up on – a lot of things I wanted to document so I wouldn’t forget! Have a great weekend!!

I had the dizzies when I was pregnant too. It’s not fun and makes it difficult to do your motherly duties. Take care of yourself Miss Maggie. http://jolenegeorge.blogspot.com/
