…that I wanted to share with you! I did a photo shoot for this family recently and they are just the picture-perfect family! Everyone looked fabulous and the kids were adorable! I still can’t get over how cute the littlest one is! That is such a fun age to photograph – when they are sitting up and smiling and you can really capture their cute little personalities!
The mom – who, by the way, is one of the sweetest ladies I know – was so nervous that the kids weren’t cooperating and that we weren’t getting any good shots! And I think that most moms feel that way! It is so stressful as the mother – to have your kids looking great and the whole time you are hoping that they will be on their best behavior, etc. You worry that none of the shots will turn out, and then the mothers are always pleasantly surprised that they do end up with lots of great shots to choose from! I think that as moms we tend to be more critical of ourselves and we think our kids are the only ones that like to run around and have fun!
I love to photograph kids though because I love that I have the opportunity to capture the unique personalities of each of the them. And I guess my job would be boring if everyone just sat and posed and they weren’t being typical kids right? My favorites always end up being the more candid shots where the kids aren’t looking or when they are interacting with each other. I love getting those shots when they forget that I am there and they don’t realize that I am still snapping away! To me the perfect shot is one that shows personality and character – one that really captures a family and where they are at the moment. For me, those are the photos that bring back memories and get me thinking about all the fun little things my kids did at that age.
